Lake Titicaca, the highest navigable lake in the world, cradle of the children of the sun, located in Puno at 3812 meters above sea level. On this tour, you will have the opportunity to take a boat ride on this wonderful lake. You will enjoy the customs of the inhabitants of the Uros and you will be surprised by their houses made of totora, as well as their fishing rafts. After this visit we will get to know the traditions and the landscape of the island of Taquile.

Day 1: Lima

Welcome to Peru! Upon arrival in Lima city, our staff will be waiting for you to transfer you to your hotel.

Day 2: City Tour Lima

In the morning breakfast
09:00 Hrs. We will start our tour with a panoramic view of the “Pucllana Pyramid” a magnificent ceremonial and archeological center built in the 4th century a.D. and considered a “sacred village” by the Incas. Then, we are going to visit the main square of Lima and get beautiful views of the Government Palace, the Cathedral and the Archbishop’s Palace. Later, we will visit to Santo Domingo monastery that is the oldest religious complex of Lima. (It was in this monastery that St. Martin de Porres spent most of his life) In the crypt of the monastery is also buried Rose of Lima (who became known for both her life of severe asceticism and her care of the needy of the city)
PM. Lunch Time in Café del Museo Larco restaurant. (Not Included)
After the lunch and a good rest, we are going to visit the Larco Herrera museum to meet the most impressive pre-columbian art collection in the world. Located in an 18th century this mansion is built on a pre-columbian pyramid of the 17th century. This museum displays an impressive collection of gold and silver of Peru.
In the afternoon return to the hotel.

Day 3: Lima - Puno

After the breakfast, briefing by your tour director
08:00 Hrs. Transfer to the airport for taking the flight to Puno, accessible services will oversee by the company.
Arrival to Puno and transfer to hotel. Free morning for acclimatization.

13:30 Hrs. Upon your arrival, you will be welcomed by one of our representatives, who will give you a brief introduction to the city and to our services while on route to the hotel.
Along the way, enjoy amazing views of the spectacular Altiplano landscape, dotted with small indigenous villages and herds of llama and vicuña.
Upon arriving in Puno, you will be stunned by the beauty and immensity of the legendary Lake Titicaca, birthplace of the great Inca Empire.

Day 4: Uros & Taquile Islands excursion

08:00 Hrs. On the second day, you will enjoy an extraordinary journey across the world’s highest navigable lake, Lake Titicaca. Travel to legendary places where time seems to have stood still. Your first stop will be the Uros floating islands. These are a peculiar grouping of around 40 small islands made totally of totora, a natural reed that grows around the lake. The cheerful inhabitants will invite you to get to know their traditional lifestyle and customs.
You will continue your voyage across the placid waters of the lake until you come to the picturesque island of Taquile, a peaceful place where old Quechua traditions live in perfect balance with modernity. Discover a landscape distinct from the other islands thanks to the Incan terraces filled with local flowers and crops. The rich colors of the clothing worn by the local inhabitants will amaze you; admire their beautiful hand-made fabrics. Most importantly, enjoy the unbelievable hospitality of the islanders, known as Taquileños, who will make your visit to the island a memorable one.

Before making your way back to Puno, you will have lunch at a local home.

Day 5: Puno - Lima

You will leave Puno and head to Juliaca, where the airport is located. On the way, you will visit the archeological complex of Sillustani, an amazing pre-Incan cemetery where more than 90 Chullpas or funerary towers some of them up to 40 feet (12 m) high, rise up imposingly around Lake Umayo. At the airport in Juliaca, you will be assisted in boarding your return flight.
